Katie World Centre Manager
Katie is from Bristol in England where she has studied Psychology and worked within Child Development. She has been a Guide and a Scout in England, which eventually took her to Switzerland 10 years ago to work in an International Scout and Guide setting. As a keen skier and walker, she has returned to the Swiss Mountains as the Manager of Our Chalet and thinks that she has one of the best mountain views from her office window. Katie also loves cheese fondue which is an advantage of working at Our Chalet.

Sarah Deputy World Centre Manager
Sarah is from Sydney, Australia. She has been involved in Girl Guides since she was seven. Sarah enjoys the outdoors and is keen to ensure opportunities are available for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to try new things and learn new skills. Sarah looks forward to the opportunity and challenges of further developing her recreation and tourism career within WAGGGS at Our Chalet and also taking her Guiding promise into the wider world.

Antonia Deputy World Centre Manager, Programme
Antonia is from Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. Antonia is trained as a Forester and has worked in Africa and Ireland. Recently she has completed her Masters in Mountain Forestry in Vienna, Austria. She has also been a Venturer and staff on Raleigh International Expeditions in Belize and Chile. Antonia loves the mountains and is looking forward to working and living in Adelboden. She hopes to bring her forestry background to her work here!

Marjolein Office Co-ordinator
Marjolein is from Barendrecht, a small village near Rotterdam in Holland. She has been a member of Dutch Scouting since her 7th birthday. Before joining the Our Chalet team Marjolein was a leader of brownies and disabled Scouts in Rotterdam. She has just finished studying Hotel and Hospitality management and is looking forward to gaining work experience and improving her langauge skills. Marjolein loves to experience Switzerland during all seasons.

Jennamari Programme Assistant
Jennamari is from Finland and is returning to Our Chalet as the Programme Assistant after working as a Winter Volunteer. Jennamari loves anything and everything about the outdoors and will definitely try anything once! She also loves the theatre and hopes one day to work in the industry. Jennamari is better known as Jensku and has a crazy personality that has earned her the title of chief staff motivator!

Ben Maintenance Assistant
Ben is from Manchester in the United Kingdom. He loves the mountains, walking and climbing and socialising with the locals. Ben is returning to Our Chalet as our Maintenance Assistant to ensure the grounds are looked after and to improve our computing system! If you need anything fixed or built or just want to learn to speak Swiss German you can find him in the toolshed.

Kat Catering Co-ordinator
Kat is from a small town in northern Idaho. She has been a Girl Scout since she was eight years old. She spent three summers as a camp counselor in western Washington state and two years as a leader of all age levels in Miami, Florida. Kat has academic aspirations and spent several years post-grad studying functional and comparative genomics. Kat’s current interests include science, baseball, eating chocolate, cooking for Our Chalet visitors and camping in the rain.

Allison Summer Volunteer
Allison is 21 years old from Toronto Canada. She has been in Guiding since she was five years old. Currently she is a Brownie leader. Allison is studying Environmental Geography at the University of Guelph and will graduate next spring. Allison loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys camping, playing sports and spending time outside. While at Our Chalet, Allison looks forward to hiking, exploring Switzerland, and meeting new friends.

Heather Summer Volunteer
Heather has been in Guiding since Brownies and joins us from Montreal, Canada where she is a Pathfinder leader. She has just completed her B.A.&Sc. in Environment and is happy to be exploring the Alps for the summer. Upon her return to Canada she will be starting a Masters in Landscape Ecology. She looks forward to singing, swinging from the trees, and hiking with curious guests. Whatever the weather, there are lots of interesting things to find outside!

Catherine is 22 years old from New Jersey, USA. She has been involved in scouting since she was five years old when she was a Daisy. Currently she is earning her Master of Arts in History. Catherine enjoys camping, hiking, and kayaking. She is looking forward to meeting Guides and Scouts from around the world and learning about Guiding in different countries.

Ruth Summer Volunteer
Ruth is 22 and from central England. She has recently graduated as an Occupational Therapist and will find a job when she returns home. Ruth has been in Guiding since she was five years old and has attended World Scout Jamborees in Thailand and the UK. Currently she is a Guide leader and working on her Queens Guide Award. Ruth really enjoys being outdoors and anything connected to Guiding.

Ashley Summer Volunteer
Ashley is 18 years old and is from Vancouver, Canada. She has been affiliated with Guiding since she was 7 years old and is now a Senior Branch member and a Junior Leader her local Sparks group. She is studying Sciences and hopes to pursue a career in the medical field. When she isn’t hitting the books or volunteering she works part time as a lifeguard and swim instructor. She enjoys skim boarding on the beach, playing competitive Netball, numerous sports, camping, travelling, reading, laughing and anything enjoyable in life. She finds immense passion in seeing different places, meeting new people from all inches of the world, as well as the thrill of a challenge; all that can be discovered at Our Chalet.

Rachel Summer Volunteer
Rachel is 20 years old and lives in Leeds, in the United Kingdom. She has been involved in Guiding since the age of five, and is currently a Guider with Brownies and Guides, a Ranger Guide. Rachel has recently completed her Queen’s Guide Award. When Rachel returns to the UK, she will begin to study for a Joint Honours degree in English Literature with Art History & Visual Culture. Rachel loves spending time outdoors and enjoys camping, climbing, hiking, kayaking, travelling, and also reading, art and singing. Rachel loves to explore new places and make new friends, and is looking forward to all the different things to experience in Switzerland and at Our Chalet!

Catherine is from Nottingham in the United Kingdom. She is 21 years old and graduated from university last summer. Catherine has been involved with Guiding in the UK since she was five years old and is currently a Guide Guider. Catherine loves being outdoors and enjoys hiking, climbing and campfires and she is very excited to be in Switzerland at Our Chalet this summer.

Vanessa Summer Volunteer
Vanessa is from Honduras in Central America. She is 20 years old and has been a member of Girl Guides since she was eight years old. She is a Leader of ‘hormigas’ and studying civil engineering at university. Vanessa is pleased she is a Summer Volunteer at Our Chalet, and is looking forward to the great experience!

Katie Summer Volunteer
Katie is 22 years old and from Lincolnshire in the United Kingdom. She has been involved in Guiding for over 17 years and enjoys all outdoor activities including camping (particularly campfires!), backpacking and kayaking. She also loves learning foreign languages and has recently finished studying French and German at Cambridge University. Katie is thoroughly looking forward to the summer at Our Chalet and can’t wait to try out her Swiss German!

Magdalena Summer Volunteer
Magdalena has been involved in Scouting for over 18 years and is now a trainer. She also works on the programme revision. She lives in Prague, Czech Republic. Magdalena is finishing her Masters studies in Gender. She loves being outdoors, hiking, talking with friends, reading books, meeting new people, exploring new places and hopes she will have a nice time at Our Chalet (since this summer is her last whole summer holiday).

Skippy Storrow Our Chalet Cat
Skippy is a very playful and energetic member of staff. She enjoys greeting guests at reception. Her favourite past times include sleeping, eating, exploring the grounds and stalking wild flowers. When you see Skippy be sure to say hello in Swiss German!
